SUSAN GIOIA, OWNER
Susan is a highly motivated, detail oriented Graphic Designer with 25+ years experience in Advertising & Marketing. She is the Owner/President of Gioia Design, Inc. where she develops exceptional designs for products or company branding, print advertising collateral and product graphics.
Susan grew up on Long Island, New York where she graduated college in 1989 from The School Of Visual Arts in Manhattan with a degree in Advertising Art & Design. Her first position out of college was as an Assistant Art Director at Grey Advertising. She worked on large accounts like Jif Peanut Butter and Fruit Of The Loom assisting in all aspects of print and television production.
In 1992 she moved from the Big Apple to South Florida. In South Florida she worked for two small advertising agencies that specialized in Marine & Boating accounts and the Healthcare Industry. While working at WDG Advertising as Creative Director, she supervised a five person creative team managing the entire creative process from from conceptualization to completion for all creative projects. After she had her first child she decided to partner with a good friend and start their own agency. D&G Creative Concepts was opened in August 1999. Continuing to work on marine, boating, and healthcare accounts, she also helped to gain new clients in the education and technology industries.
Susan began to work contractually for Motorola Mobility in 2003 and is still working on a contract basis for product graphic projects today. She works closely with Consumer Experience Design team, Marketing teams and Engineering teams in all aspects of product design work. Knowledge of CMF (color, material, finishes) for the cellphone industry while working with Mechanical Engineers, Industrial Designers, Product and Program managers from concept through ship acceptance of mobility products. Susan has worked on many different aspects for Motorola from Marketing Materials, Packaging, Collateral pieces, Product Graphics, and Specialty Products over the years.
In 2006, Susan began Gioia Design, Inc. as the Sole Owner and President. She moved to the North Atlanta, Georgia area in 2011 with her husband and two children. Now living and working in Johns Creek, GA, Susan enjoys being a mom, playing tennis, running, and trying to make the world a better place through volunteering. Over the years she has run several marathons. Last year, Oct. 2017, Susan ran The Marine Corp. Marathon for her 50th birthday, while raising over $2600 for St. Judes' Research Hospital as a St. Jude Hero. Collectively she has raised over $10,000 for The Leukemia Society's Team in Training, $3,000 for the Susan G. Komen 3-day for Breast Cancer and was a wish granter for 5 years for the Make A Wish Foundation in South Florida. Today after work and weekends you can find Susan either on the tennis courts in her neighborhood, running on the greenway, driving her kids around town to activities, or volunteering at her synagogue.
